Why did you invent the Rubik's cube and what inspired you to make the Rubik's Cube? I was a situation when I had to teach my class how to solve 3D problems, so I went away and created the first prototype of my cube. The cube consisted of six sides, and six colours (white, yellow, blue, green, red and orange. I wanted to prove that it was possible to have a cube with 26 unique cubes within it, allowing them to move on their own.

When did you created the Rubik's Cube? I created the Rubiks cube in 1974 because I had to teach my class how to solve 3D problems. This resulted in the Rubik's cube. Then in 1977, my invention was being sold in Hungry as Buvos Kocka, meaning magic cube. In 1980, ideal toy company and I got together to release the Rubik's cube internationally.

What did you intend for the Rubik's cube to be in the first place? I intended for the Rubik's cube to be a device for teaching students how to solve 3D problems, such as architects, which is what I taught when I was a professor at the Budapest Collage of applied arts.

What did you do before you made the Rubik's Cube? I was a professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and taught Architecture from 1971 to 1979.

What do you call your invention? I call the cube "My Cube". If I had a child, I wouldn’t call it Rubiks child, I would call it "My Child".

How old were you when you created the Rubik's Cube? I was only 30 years of age when I created the Rubik's cube. I created it because I had to teach my class how to solve 3D problems. I was a Professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. I stated there in 1971 to 1979, a year before the Rubik's Cube was released into the international market.

Where was the first place that the Rubik's cube was first sold? The first place the rubiks cube was sold was in budapest hungry, where I live. The Rubik's cube actually wasn’t sold internationally when it was first sold. It was sold only in hungry for three years before hitting the international market.
